Asynchronicity was the most popular suggestion.
Itβs an attractive idea because it brings us back to how life was for most of human history. Then, our ability to interact with people in real-time was restricted to those close enough to be within reach. Everyone else was either unreachable or contactable with long delays.
Even two generations ago, although we had phones, many interactions were asynchronous since phones werenβt ubiquitous. However, in the last thirty years, we have progressed rapidly. Now, 7.3 Billion people are mobile users.
Take a moment to consider this: 8 Billion people share the world, and 91% of them can be reached instantly via phone, email, or message.
